What you can make

Sample full worksheet row: 妈妈 爸爸 苹果 mā 妈 ma 妈 bà 爸 ba 爸 píng 苹 guǒ 果

Full Full sheets for reading

Pinyin sits above each character in the grid, so a learner can read a short text, a word list or a poem and connect sound to shape.

Sample trace worksheet row: 妈妈 爸爸 苹果 mā 妈 ma 妈 bà 爸 ba 爸 píng 苹 guǒ 果

描红 Tracing sheets (描红)

Characters are printed in light grey for tracing over. Children learning in Chinese schools use this kind of sheet to practise proportion and stroke placement inside the grid.

Sample blank worksheet row: 妈妈 爸爸 苹果 mā ma bà ba píng guǒ

Blank Blank sheets for dictation

Only the pinyin is printed and the squares are empty. Read the words aloud (or let the learner read the pinyin) and have them write the characters from memory.

Real sheets

Made for real homework

Punctuation gets its own square, as it does in Chinese exercise books, and paragraphs start with a two-square indent. You print exactly the text you paste, not a fixed list from someone else.

  • Punctuation gets its own square
  • Paragraphs start with a two-square indent
  • Optional name / date line and sheet title
  • Spoken tones for 一 / 不 when you want them
